Epilogue

I walk in and stare at the display on the wall, not knowing.

I laugh at its’ obscurity, then hear your laughter and stop.

You are standing beside me.

Out of the corner of my eye I see that your beauty has no comparison.

A summer’s day.  The day we met.

The excitement begins to well in my stomach.

I want to speak to you, but experience has taught me silence.

The innumerable letters.  The uncountable explanations.

I want to reach for you and hold the warmth that my arms once knew.

Our first kiss.  Our first dance.

You walk away.  My rampant thoughts come to a crashing halt against

the wall of your absence.

Our last farewell.  Our parting words.
